Für die Museumserweiterung des Kunstmuseums in Basel habe ich eine Flyerablage entworfen. Diese ist wie auch schon die anderen Einrichtungsgegenständen aus verzinktem Stahl. Dieses Material ist industriell, zeitgemäß und wurde im Museum verwendet, um Altes und Neues zu verbinden. Da es robust und witterungsbeständig ist, eignet es sich auch hervorragend für den Außenbereich. An die Fassade gelehnt, bietet es Passanten Informationen zu aktuellen Ausstellungen.
Die Gestaltung der Flyerablage basiert auf einer ursprünglichen Verwendung des Materials. Gelochte Winkelbleche werden in erster Linie zu konstruktiven Zwecken eingesetzt. In Außenräumen wird es für tragende Konstruktionen und als langlebige Verkleidung eingesetzt. Das Zink an der Oberfläche bildet eine Schutzpatina, die den Stahl vor Korrosion schützt.

For the Artmuseum Basel I have designed a flyer display for the extension of the furniture. This is like all other furnishings in galvanized stainless steel executed. Leaning against the façade, it is intended to offer passers-by information for the museum. Of course, the object can also be used in other places in the city or inside buildings.
The design of the flyer display is based on an original use of the material. Corrugated beams and profiles are used primarily for constructive purposes. In outdoor rooms as supporting structures and paneling with a long service life. That’s not surprising. Zinc forms a protective patina that protects the steel from corrosion.
