For the Artmuseum Basel I have designed a flyer display for the extension of the furniture. This is like all other furnishings in galvanized stainless steel executed. This material is industrially, contemporary and has been chosen in the museum to link old and new. Because it is robust and weather resistant, it is also ideal for outdoor use. Leaning against the façade, it is intended to offer passers-by information for the museum. Of course, the object can also be used in other places in the city or inside buildings.
The design of the flyer display is based on an original use of the material. Corrugated beams and profiles are used primarily for constructive purposes. In outdoor rooms as supporting structures and paneling with a long service life. That’s not surprising. Zinc forms a protective patina that protects the steel from corrosion.
